Hi, my name is Thomas Nickelson, and I’m a photographer. In addition to being a photographer, I am also the author of FotoProfy, a blog about photography tips and techniques. Over the years, I have learned a lot about photography, and I want to share that knowledge with you!
My Short Biography
I was born and raised in beautiful Los Angeles, California. As a young boy, I was always fascinated by the arts. I loved going to the museums and art galleries with my parents. It was during these visits that I discovered my passion for photography.
I went on to study photography in Los Angeles City College, and after graduation, I started working as a professional photographer. I have shot weddings, portraits, landscapes, and still life photography. I have also taught photography classes and workshops.
My Photography Experience in Details
I started photography when I was about 15 years old. My father gave me an old 35mm camera, and I loved it. I took it everywhere with me, taking photos of my family, friends, and anything that caught my eye. When I was 18, I decided to take a photography class at Los Angeles City College. That’s where I really learned the basics of photography and fell in love with it.
After college, I worked as a freelance photographer for a few years before becoming a full-time professional photographer. Since then, I’ve photographed weddings, portraits, commercial work, and more. But no matter what type of photography I’m doing, my goal is always to capture the beauty and emotion of the moment.
Why Do I Like Photography?
There are many reasons why I love photography. First and foremost, I enjoy the creative process of taking photos. I also like the fact that photography allows me to capture memories and moments that can be shared with others.
Another reason I enjoy photography is that it gives me a chance to meet new people and visit new places. I have been fortunate enough to travel to some amazing places, and taking photographs has allowed me to share those experiences with others.

I started FotoProfy because I want to help others learn about photography. I remember how confusing and overwhelming it was when I first started out, and I want to help others avoid that feeling.
